Anna - Glad to hear from you and I wish you all the best in your decision!!! Yeah, it seems that there is so many prereqs that they require when you more than likely won't need some of them, but hey you have to get it done to get where you want to be. I have several to take myself and will start Jan. 7th. Are you going to Wake or Wilson Tech?

Yes, I'm finally complete with my first step. Now I have to sit for NCLEX and that's what all of this was for. . . that LICENSE and of course giving care to those in need!!!! I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time. I've been studying pretty much every night except maybe on the weekends. I keep telling myself I WILL PASS and I know I will as long as I don't let the nerves get to me as soon as I sit down at that computer terminal :chair:. I was pretty much an A/B student, but that really doesn't mean too much when it's time to sit for state boards. Ladies send a prayer up for me please. I'll need every blessing that can be spared .

Hey Anna,

When did you get your letter of acceptence? The reason why I ask is because I had applied for the Feb. 2008 day program at ECPI and haven't heard a word. It just so happend that I did a google search on ECPI nursing students for Feb '08 and this website pop up. I been going to my mailbox everyday (sometimes twice a day) but nothing. I wish they would let me know something!:angryfire

Hi,

I'm seriously thinking about ECPI in Raliegh for the LPN program. I haven't been able to speak with anyone but over email because I'm in the military and deployed. My time in the military will be up in June and hope to take a trip up there to talk to a recruiter and take the exam. Do any of you have any suggestions for me? I would really like to become a RN, and not sure what the best way would be. I see that some of you already started, how are the classes?

I appreciate all your help.

Hello ladies,

I was reading your posts because I am enrolled to start the RN program at ECPI in Aug. (Newport News, VA). I have been waiting to take get into the nursing program at many different colleges for years. ECPI is expensive but I think it is worth it. My tuition is 33,000..This includes lab fees, all books, tutouring, Scrubs, Clinicals, and more. They give a 2000k scholarship to their students as well.. you only have to pay 100 a month until you graduate. The program is excellerated that is why it is so expensive. It is only 15 months. At first this worried me because I wondered what their NCLEX passing rate was...well I checked and it is 100%. They have the most amazing technology when it comes to training. The dummies actually tell you if you callapse their vain or blow their vain or anything that could possibly go wrong. I think if you are planning to become an RN and are sick of waiting ECPI is the best way to go. You have to take the TEAS exam, get 3 letters of reccomendation, write an essay, 2 Interveiws with the nursing directors, and take Chem, Math and computers. These 3 classes are included in your tuition and they are all 5 weeks long and you take them together right before you start nursing school. EPCI's credits for the RN program do trasfer so you are able to get your BSN if you wanted. I am not sure if this recently changed but I asked that question prior to enrollment. I do plan to get a masters specializing in oncology so it was important for me to know that.

Well, I just wanted you to know that ECPI is actually a pretty good way to go...it is expensive but you only have to pay $100 a month and you may have to take out student loans...They gave me 25 websites for scholarships after I passed my TEAS and enrolled. I even got the $2000 scholarship from the school itself the day I enrolled (you automatically get it if you are a military spouse). I was just sick of waiting and got right into this school within a week of finding it. So in 15 months (after 3 years on waiting lists) I will be an RN. Its worth it to me...you can wait forever to get in to a cheaper school that takes over 2 years for your AS or you can pay more and start working making 30+ an hour and pay off you student debt before you would even graduate from another school.
