Entrance exams

Hi there,

I am applying to the local LPN program and have to take an entrance exam. I was told it is basic reading, writing and math. She said it is 10th grade level (?). I am not worried about the reading and writing, but it has been 20 years since I took a math course. Is there a lot of Algebra on the test?

Can anyone tell me what I might study for and if I can find any study sites for this test online.

I've taken two entrance exams. The first one was reading comprehention, writing (making sure sentences were correct and spelling) and math (this included some algebra, basic math, and conversions). The second had all of the above plus some basic medical conversions (this was for a BSN program). Talk to your advisor and see what is going to be (exactly) on the test and what you can do to prepare for it. A great website is called math for morons like us and was a great help for reviewing.

All I can say is to read and re-read the questions. You'll do fine, I'm sure. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was, but I passed in the higher percentile of the group. And, (this is so cliche'), but if I can do it.... I'm sure you can too!!!
