Are there any Georgia Nurses that can help me do the GA Provider Enrollment. I'm trying to get my Medicaid provider number.

Cons

I don't know if GA Medicaid Providers have the same issues as NY. Word of advice when you take a case, make sure their PA# (Prior Approvement) is already approved. If not you'll find out the hard way when you go to bill and your claim is denied. A huge problem is nurses working 1-2+mo without pay, waiting on those good ole PA# to get renewed. Make sure the doc on the case number & enrollment is current. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, because at some point Humpty Dumpty will fall off the wall and end up in the hospital putting you out of a job until... So get a couple of different cases. High instances of parents blurring your nursing role with that of a glorified babysitter. Get in writing from parents schedule agreements, because issues and favoritism will arise. Medicaid takes *FA-EFFA* to process initial forms & EFT (electronic funds transfer direct deposit). Check for local list serv of cases, and FB Groups for local Medicaid Nursing Networks to find cases. So far there are 2 involving NYS. The website usually has a calendar of event” of webinars training you to fill out provider forms, ect. They also have provider manuals and guides for whatever Medicaid paperwork that you have to do.

Pros

More flexibility with making your schedule.

Getting paid the same amount regardless of race/gender.

Downtime for studying if you're in school.

Great pay if there up to date with national salaries (ours haven't given us a raise in 15 YEARS we have been petitioning)

Complete the medically fragile pediatric population” form to get a 30% per hour pay increase for your Peds patients (ours age is up to 21yrs old)

Specializes in med-surg, telemetry, rehab, ortho, dialy.

Do you have to be active in your business for a certain amount of time before you are able to get a Medicaid provider number? Im here in GA as well.
