I currently have my RN license in the state of Hawaii. I got my DUI in aug 2013 (so about 1.5 years ago). I am currently trying to endorse my license to california, sent my application, references, court and police documents, proof of rehab. It's been a month since i turned everything in, I've called many times, but I still haven't got a response. My question is, is there a possibility that they will deny my license? I've read many success threads about people trying to take their nclex in california with a DUI, So I was just wondering if I'd have a better edge because I already have my RN license. Thanks

Get it expunged before you apply if that is possible. And let us know how it turns out!
Unfortunately I already submitted my application. I don't even know if I qualify for expungement because It's only been a year and a half since my DUI. Plus, it would take 120 days for it to process. So even if I did it now, and got denied the endorsement, I wouldn't have the expungement processed in time for my appeal. I called the BON the other day and said they would review my application soon. So i'll keep you guys updated -__-

Please let us know how it goes for you. Get it expunged anyway. It will help you with employment if you have that removed. Good luck!
Since no one was able to help me out, I just got my License in the Mail from California. I'm officially a registered Nurse in California, despite having a DUI. I just turned in what I had to turn it. Didn't have to appeal. Took 5 months for them to process though. Found a job in California so I'll be moving next month.

Out of curiosity, what was your BAC? Your DUI was pretty recent if only a year and a half ago. I was recently denied (endorsement) for a DUI in 2009. Moved my entire family to Ca, had a job lined up and all. Congrats on getting through the system.
