Hi! I am an RN in the state of NV. I moved to NV from Cali for work because I am unable to obtain my RN license in CA because I graduated from the Philippines. Anyway, I am thinking to study ACNP program. I was wondering if you guys know anyone who studied ACNP outside CA and have an RN license out of state but was able to take the ACNP certification in Cali.

ACNP certification is obtained from a national exam either from AACN, AANP, or PNCB. I see no problem in you being able to sit for ACNP certification as long as you graduated from an accredited ACNP program. BTW, the correct credentials now are AGACNP-BC (ANCC) or ACNPC-AG (AACN) for adult/gero and CPNP-AC (PNCB) for peds.
California will grant a Nurse Practitioner license only if you are eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. If the BRN stated in the past that you did not meet the requirements for RN, you may not qualify for NP either. However, the BRN assesses each case on an individual basis. You may have to check directly with the BRN on this matter.
