Endorsement concerns

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am a nurse in Indiana. I am thinking of relocating to GA. I am worried the board will not approve the school I went to. It is not NLN certified ( I though it was at the time- long story there of course) Anyway does anyone know how picky they are? I think that if you pass the NCLEX and are working as a nurse what school shouldn't matter as much. Oh well.. Such is my luck. I have called the board and they said I have to sumit the packet and then they board will decide. I hate to waste my money just to be rejected, so has anyone had experience or has heard of someone being rejected due to school:o?

Congrats!!! It is good to hear something positive about the whole process.. ( there is a light at the end of the tunnel ) :nurse:

Congrats!!!! Also, I don't think the GA BON issues pocket licenses anymore...go to their website and check, I know the GA LPN BON has a big notice on their front page that they will no longer issue print licenses.

Again Contrats!!!

Thanks! I am not familiar about the LPN processing in GA BON but for the RN license they do issue pocket license. Based on the message of the email sent to me by the GA Secretary of State, a pocket card will arrive to me in 10 business days by mail. I assume that is the pocket license. And for the meantime while waiting for that pocket card to arrive, I could print out the page of license verification and it may serve as proof of my licensure.

Thanks! :):nurse:...You're absolutely correct with what you said. Sometimes the tunnel can be very long, very dark, may even be winding and we feel hopeless of it but there is end of it--with light of hope, joy and surprises. It just requires great patience. It feels good when one reaches the end of it...It's a big relief. Good luck to others!

Hello everyone! I hope someone can help me- I have my RN in Hawaii, but I am a new grad with 3+ months of exp and my degree is an ADN from Excelsior. Does anyone know if this will be a huge issue with receiving an endorsement in Georgia given my circumstances?

Thank you for any help!!

it will be a huge isse with the BON. You have to have at least 1 year of experience to endorse in with excelsior.

Thanks for your response. I was considering endorsing in neighboring SC, getting my year in, and then endorsing in GA-maybe that will work out. How frustrating. You know, I finally got to finish school, passed the NCLEX, now can't find a job or get an endorsement (even the LTCs want 1 year lately). Sometimes I just hate nursing because nothing ever seems to be good enough. Has nursing always been so nasty to its new grads?
