Hello everyone. I was curious if there are any Endicott College FNP students out there that are starting this Fall or if there are any alums out there that have completed the FNP program; if so, are you pleased with the education that you received? Do you feel as though you were thoroughly prepared to sit for the certification exam? I know that this program is brand new and there has only been one class that has graduated thus far but just thought I would ask. Thanks!

I started the FNP program in January of this year, and am finishing up my sixth class. So far the classes have been somewhat helpful, though as a new program, they are still working on getting the kinks out. The Dean is extremely helpful and gives a feeling of wanting the students to succeed. I find the program relatively easier than undergraduate nursing, but that could be due to the type of program I went to before. Having said that, you have to have good time management as there are much more paper assignments than undergrad and the need to be organized with your time. They are also working on networking with preceptors. This is an area that I'm slightly nervous about as they've asked us to try to find preceptors on our own too. However, when I talk to my advisor, she states that they will help if we can't find any on our own. Other than that, it's difficult to say if this program will help with the boards as it's still relatively new. But so far I like the program for the most part. Wish you the best of luck when you start!
Thank you! I am really glad to hear that the school is willing to help you locate a clinical if you are stuck. I myself have been wondering when to start looking for potential preceptors. I work with a woman who suggested that I start seeking out clinical placements now; can you believe that?! She said that it can be very difficult to find something close to home. If you live on the north shore of MA, there is actually quite a few community health centers in this area. Thanks so much for replying to my post and good luck in the rest of the program!
