Endarterectomy-Need Help =)

Hi- I've used this site as a tool many times, but have just registered. I have finals next week and 4 sick kids (two of them being 8 months old) so my brain is fried. I hate for my first time on here to be asking for help, but I really would appreciate any help I can get. My professor asked me yesterday to write a paper on Endarterectomies. She asked me to include indications for the procedure, what the procedure is and the nurse's role pre, intra and postoperatively. She said I need to have at least one reference from a nursing journal. I have been searching for a couple of hours and I can't find anything. Mostly just case studies. I'm sure that I can define the procedure and the indications to have it done, but I'm not sure I know the exact nursing roles. Maybe I'm making it harder than it is, but all I can think of is just basic generic nursing duties...

look for this article in MedSurg Nursing in Feb 1999 by Susan Fouler,Roco Cicoca, and Irwin Keller..Nsg care of the Carotid Endarterctomy patient. You can write the whole project from this one.
