Emory's Accelerated BSN/MSN

U.S.A. Georgia

Does anyone know any specifics about Emory's new accelerated program? I just got on the website yesterday and saw that this summer they will be launching an accelerated BSN/MSN program, with the BSN portion only taking 1 year now instead of 2 years. Does anyone know if this program will be harder to get into than the regular BSN/MSN Segue? And will the same types of scholarships be available for this program...ie:Fuld Fellowship?

I have a friend that was accepted into Emory's accelerated BSN/MSN program. What I can tell you is that it is very competitive. My friend had a 3.9 GPA with a science related degree and was placed on the waiting list. Luckily someone else decided to decline their seat and she got in. Georgia State also has an accelerated program which is competitive as well but not to the degree of Emory. They have two groups starting in January and August of each year but I would recommend having a relatively high GPA and high score on the TEAS exam as well. I would also recommend having all prereqs completed before applying to avoid a lower applicant score. Good Luck

Would anyone else that got accepted mind sharing their stats?

I'm still completing my prereqs and so I will be applying in the Fall. I have a BS in Marketing - 3.2....and I haven't taken the MAT or GRE. But I'm really nervous about how competitive admission to the ABSN/MSN program will be.

hello! i am currently in the accelerated BSN-MSN program. I don't know my exact GPA because I took a lot of classes for the pre-reqs at different schools after graduating college. I would guess I probably had a 3.7 or 3.8. I pretty much got all As and some A+s for the pre-req classes. I graduated with honors in both of my degrees: Biology, emphasis in Molecular and Italian. I spent about a year volunteering at various hospitals. On the GRE i got around a 1200. um, I don't really know what else would be helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello -i am currently serving as a Peace Corps Health Volunteer in West Africa, and I am applying to the accelerated BSN-MSN program at Emory, and a few other schools. i want to do the Family Nurse Practitioner/Midwife program. I got a 3.7GPA and graduated in biology and music in 2007. I have all my pre-reqs finished, mostly with A's, and I got a 1200 on the GRE. Any suggestions on the application process - pitfalls or things that take a lot of time. i am applying from Ghana, so I need to plan ahead...thanks for any suggestions!
