Emory Residency Program--your experience?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am very interested in pursuing a career with Emory, as I've had some of my clinical experiences there and have really liked it so far. My question is: what is the new graduate residency program like? Were you able to chose what floor and for what shift you wanted to apply for when you applied for the program?

Any pros and cons of the residency program (hours worked vs pay, stuff like that) would be greatly appreciated. I graduate soon and am trying to network as best I can with hospitals in the Atlanta area.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

I'm in the same boat as you all! I applied April 8th and my application still says "under consideration". I wouldn't be terribly surprised though if they don't start interviewing until July since the residency doesn't start until Sept/Oct. I emailed Darryl as well a few days ago but have yet to hear back from him!

Yes I applied in April as well got the questionnaire and have heard nothing back. I'm so stressed waiting to hear back :-/

Anyone hear anything this week yet? I have not.

Almost just about giving up on this residency. The update email back in early May said to give them 2-3 weeks from deadline date of may10th... Been much longer than that...

Specializes in ICU.

Nothing yet! They must have had thousands of applications to go through... I'm almost feeling sorry for the people reading all those questionnaires at this point! Hopefully they finish up soon.

I'm in town interviewing at Piedmont Hospital and I'm gonna try to stop by and see what's up! Ill let you all know how it goes!

Now i understand why some hospitals limit their apps to 100!

Wow, that would be awesome if you got some info!! Good luck with Piedmont!

Still have not heard anything...I am curious to what happened.

Newbie here! Glad I found this post .. Maybe they haven't called applicants who haven't taken their NCLEX? Just a thought, who knows ..

It's funny I said that because I tough about that!

I haven't heard anything and I am licensed. So I don't know what is going on...you think at least one of us would hear something.
