Emory New Grad Residency - Summer 2015

Published

Hey everyone!

Since it's been done in the past, I figured I would make a thread for us hopefuls applying to Emory's new grad residency program for summer 2015. I know the waiting period can feel quite lengthy and people seem to hear stuff about the review process at different times, so please feel free to share which area you've applied for and if you've heard anything back so far. :)

I got an email on the 15th also that scheduled my interview basically the same as mellie's! I'm going on April 30th at Midtown for women's health, but mine is at 10am. Since I've been getting so many emails from Emory lately, it also went to my junk folder at first.

Has everyone else received all those packets and things from Emory? I feel like they're jumping the gun sending out that kind of information, especially about the contract

Do you mean the files they sent out with the interview emails? They attached stuff about pay rates, insurance benefits, and the residency contract. I haven't gotten anything in the actual mail though.

No, it was through email. It wasn't those things sent out with the interview confirmation stuff, it was other emails asking for a scan of my license, asking me to sign things and scan it back, etc. I emailed Amanda about it and found out it was actually a mistake! lol apparently another applicant further along in the process had a very similar email to mine, and they were sending those things over before making a formal job offer.

I still have not heard anything from Emory. I called the office on Friday and left a message. I put St. Joseph's Hospital as my top hospital so I wonder if I am in a different process from you all. I'm hoping they call me back tomorrow or Tuesday.

Now that I think about it, I actually put St. Joe's as my second choice. I didn't really want anything other than Midtown, but it's a good hospital so I put it down - and I haven't heard anything for that one, either, so you might have something there.

Just in case anyone is interested, they are NOT hiring for NICU. I asked to recruiter to check for me before I made travel plans to attend the interview.

I too have been waiting patiently to hear about an interview time and date. I have called and left messages since early last week but no one has ever called me back. I finally got through yesterday after on forever hold and was told everyone was already notified about interview dates and times. They reviewed all my contact information (which they had correct) and said they have no idea why I did not receive any interview confirmation. I asked them how and when it was sent and they told me they do not have that information because it is scattered. (what does that mean?)They also told me that St. Joe's, which was another choice besides midtown, has nothing. I am extremely disappointed in how this whole mess was handled. I wish ALL of you the very best in your interviews and your future with them -obviously for me it is not meant to be.

That is ridiculous! They didn't even attempt to schedule you after being notified of the mistake? Honestly, it makes me question working for them a little bit if they're so disorganized behind the scenes. They sent me an email meant for someone else, maybe yours was also sent to the wrong person. Especially because most of the emails I got from them in the beginning just said "To Applicant" or even just "Good Afternoon..." After pointing out their mistake to me, it's like they've made a point to state my name in every email since then, but that's just crazy.

I'm really sorry it didn't work out for you this time, but I'm sure anywhere else would be lucky to have you. Depending on what you're interested in going into, I know Northside is starting their fall recruitment session interviewing in late May/early June. :sorry:

Hi there,

i applied for for the Emory nurse residency March 2016. Seems they are starting really early. I received the email saying my resume has been successfully reviewed by talent acquisition. How long after getting the email did they send out the questionnaires?

Hi! I've also applied for the March 2016 program. I was wondering if your heard anything yet? I've already submitted my questionnaire

Hi, I recently received the questionnaire to fill out for the residency program. There wasn't a specified email address to send it back to so I just replied to the email with an attached copy of the filled out questionnaire. Is that what y'all did as well?

Hi! Yep! That's what I did 😊

And be sure to head over to the other Emory 2016 thread! There's more of us over there 😊
