Hello!
I decided to create this forum for everyone who applied to Emory's MN MSN program for Summer 2022. I applied early decision! Hope to get decisions soon.
Hi! I applied to the pediatric primary care specialty for the MN-MSN program. I got notified that I was selected for admission to the pre-licensure program for 2022. Does anyone know what this means, is this what others acceptances said who applied MN-MSN, or did it say your actual specialty in the acceptance? Thanks!!

I don’t think mine said the actual specialty.

I’m extremely disappointed but I just wanted to say congratulations again to everyone that got accepted. You’ll all be great nurses/nps!
Oh wow I didn’t know they weren’t reviewing midwifery this cycle. Is it because it’s full? I haven’t received any emailed from them. Were you applying to the midwifery program?

Yes I was! Well this is what they said in the email.
Dear Midwifery Applicants,
We know 2021 has continued to be a challenging year for the nursing community. Emory will not be reviewing applications for the midwifery specialty for 2022. This decision was not an easy one, but it will allow us to ensure we can adequately support our students who have already matriculated into the program. Our current students have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and they need our support.
Due to this programming change, we will refund your application fee of $50.
We apologize for any inconvenience this announcement may have caused.
We wish you the best of the luck as you apply to midwifery programs.
Sincerely,
The Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs

Oh wow, that’s so interesting, this doesn’t happen often I’m sure. Are you applying to different program at Emory now, or sticking with midwifery at other schools?

I called and they let me know there was a glitch in the acceptance letters apparently. They looked up my application in the system and verified I was accepted to the MN + MSN program, not just the pre-licensure, so I would call if you want some more clarity.
