EMORY ABSN+MSN 2017

So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2017. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?

I still don't have OPUS access--is that where the decision is posted? My applicant portal page says nothing new. I must say that, overall, Emory's application process has been less transparent and streamlined than, say, Yale's. I'm sure there is a method to the madness, but I'm not quite sure what that is! I will certainly have input whether or not I'm accepted :)

So to my understanding, any and or all applicants have access to OPUS. Just go to this link: https://saprod9.emory.edu/psp/saprod9/?cmd=login and click "Obtain Network ID and Password"

Hopefully this works. I didn't get an email about OPUS, just had to figure it out myself.

That the thing... I applied back on 9/30/2016 and they had most of my classes checked off. Then had to call them for them to receive my GRE scores and then about a week later, they checked off more classes. I haven't really had too many problems but I hate playing to waiting game lol
I am anxious to hear what happens on your end! I applied just 1 day before you and I am in the same boat! Good luck!

Hi everyone,

I just got off the phone with the admissions office. They said that they started releasing decisions last night, but they will be releasing the rest over the next two weeks. I didn't get a clear answer on if they were going through them based on when we turned them in. I hope that helps y'all out! I'm not very pleased with the unclear application timeline and their inefficient notification process will definitely be a factor in my decision to attend.

Hopefully we will all hear back within this two week time frame and they don't switch it again lol

For people asking about financial aid - I just came across this on the Emory website, I think they must've refreshed these pages pretty recently because I hadn't noticed this before. They have a ton of info up about timelines and process for applying for financial aid, and it lists this timeline for the ABSN/MSN program. I'd be surprised if they really stick to it since they seem to be a bit behind with the admissions decisions, but I would be very glad to hear back about merit scholarships on Dec 1!

Hey fellow admits. The acceptance letter says that they will be seeing us Summer 2017 but online it says first semester is Fall 2017? Anyone got any insight or am I reading things wrong.

Yes, it's a bit confusing because students doing only the ABSN start in the fall. So when you look at the admitted students websites it talks a lot about the Fall orientation and such but the ABSN+MSN definitely starts in the summer, I believe in May but I haven't seen the official date.

I have not yet. I still have my 2 Xs still marked which doesn't make sense to me but I have been patiently waiting. Weird thing is that I am started to receive emails about financial aid and they they are processing my application. Have you gotten anything about this?

Yeah! I had to submit some paperwork for them and they've assigned me a financial aid advisor and such. I'm guessing they process your financial aid whether you've been accepted already or not?

I spoke with them on the phone again yesterday and they said the new notification deadline is December 1st. They said they have made all the decisions but there was a problem with the notification system. Not sure I buy that but that's what they said on the phone.

Oy vey!! Well at least it is next Thursday and not too far off. Still no updates on my end however....
