please help me! my name is trista, i have one year left of high school snd i want to be an e.r nuse. i would like to know how you guys and girls went by becoming one (the steps to it) and how you like being an e.r nurse. any help! :nurse: :nurse: :nurse: :nurse:

I've been an ER nurse for >20yrs. Study hard in high school and then apply to a nursing program in your area. Decide what is best or more affordable for you as far as a 2yr program or a 4yr. When you graduate from nursing school sometimes you can get hired right into ER. There will be critical care courses to take and ACLS,PALS, ATLS and others depending on what your hospital requires. Some people may recommend med surg or some sort of critical care experience before working in the ER.

Any way your first thing is to get into nursing school, after successfully graduating from high school. Then as you progress in school you will know what and how to do what you want to do.

Hope this helps.

Well the first thing is to set your goal. then aim for it and succeed. Good luck to ya..

Get into nursing school - a 2 year program is great, because you can begin working as an RN (associate degree) after 2 yrs and then go for your other 2 years (your Bachelors degree) after that. Or you can do a bachelors degree program all at once, although that is more expensive and time consuming. If you work hard and set your sights on the ER, you can probably get hired right into it as a new RN. Good luck.

I want to thank everyone who has responded to my question.

THANK YOU!
