Exhausting shifts

Just thought I would share a funny moment I had a few years ago. I work nightshifts 12 hrs and did 6 on 8 off. I live about 30 minutes from the hospital, so I usually go to the gym after my shift to kinda get myself real awake for the drive home. Driving is so monotonous. I had done about 30 min of cardio on the treadmill and was doing crunches on an incline board and fell fast asleep on the crunch board!! I don't know how long I slept probably only 10- 15 minutes but I wake up and this guy is riding a stationary bike next to watching me sleep and laughing. I was so embarrassed and I high tailed it out of there so fast. I was pretty wide awake after that too. Anyone else have an embarrassing experience when they were tired?

oh goodness that is a good one!! wtg on going to work out after a shift. I couldnt do that after working.. anyhow- I have nodded off at a red light or two back in my day of night shift. I do recall going to the circus with my husband on one of my days coming off shift and I guess I didnt sleep to well that am because I fell right asleep during the greatest show on earth that afternoon.

Last year I was working nights at a LTC facility. During mid summer my gf and I had decided we wanted to go to a Mariners (baseball) game *first time at safeco field in our lives*. Seattle is about 3 hours away, and we both worked nights, but i figure go to sleep about 7, wake up about 2:30 and I'd be good right? WRONG! Turns out the game was a 1:05 game. Didn't sleep a wink...until the game. 5th inning I'm sitting behind homeplate drooling on myself...decided I needed to drive home. (Got halfway there and slept at a friends house)...I wouldn't be suprised if I ended up on sportscenter for that one!!!
