Emergency Management Certificate for RN???

Published

I am in nursing school and am thinking about my future. I can take a one year program in Emergency Management after I get my RN in Summer of '09. Will this benefit me at all as an RN? My eventual goal is Nurse Practitioner and I don't want to get too side tracked or be in school forever.

Any advice for me?

What would you want to do with this education? Is there a need for it in your area in a job you are interested in? If NP is your goal I would get some RN experience so that you can choose a good field that is lucrative and available to you.

Although I believe in always furthering yourself, just because some course is available might not be the best reason to take it. Good luck.
