Emcc Lpn -vs- Muw Associate Rn

Published

hello everyone,

is there any current lpn students attending emcc, mayhew campus, or any current adn students attending the "w".

I am still up in the air about which program would be better for me.

I think I am going to apply for both. I was just on Emcc's website, and read about the NEON Grant, that is in place to assist nursing students. If I do decide to take the route of LPN, would have to bridge over to RN @ the "W"? And also, would I have to have 1 year work experience before bridging over to RN? Or can I work as a LPN, while I am studying for the RN? And also, how is the Nursing Entrance Exam given at EMCC? Does the "W" also require an entrance exam? I guess I need to set up meetings with counselors at these schools? I just have so many fears and questions about both programs. And I would just like direct answers from "students" that are going through the experience. HELP!:uhoh3:(dont have a clue)

i was a lpn that upgraded to asn. went to lpn school in memphis and upgraded at the w. pretty sure you can probably upgrade at any asn program if they have a bridge program, so not just only at the w. looking back i'm glad i worked as a lpn for 2yrs but now i see i just should've went straight to rn program.

try to calm your fears, just give the counselors at the w a call and ask them some questions.
