Emailing Nurse Recruiters

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello! I am currently in the last semester of my BSN program and planning to graduate in December 2019. I applied for a position a couple of weeks ago at the hospital where I would love to work on the exact day the application was posted online. The job posting has since been removed from the hospital website. However, on the job portal page where I am able to track the status of my application, the job status still shows "active, still taking applications" and the submission status shows "under consideration."

My question is...is it frowned upon to send an email to the nurse recruiter and further inquire about the job? The job posting was only online for a few days before it was removed. Even though the job portal still says the job status is active, I am unsure about if this is accurate or not since the posting is no longer available.

Thanks in advance! ?

Which hospital was this for?

I don't think it would be offensive to ask about your application status. They might be a little slow about responding back but their job is to recruit nurses so they should reply back to you.

This does work differently depending upon the hospital. However, based on my experience the recruiter is the first person to contact in this situation. They are usually willing to update you on application status.
