oh sweetheart! i am sorry you are having problems. do not feel bad about calling! that is how things get done... that is how i got my ATT for my RN done when I tested for it as well.
I called ANCC a total of 5 times just yesterday because everytime I talked to one person there she/he would refer me to another one! They all told me different things too. Very frustrating. One told me I would hear today, the second told me by Sat, and the third told me by next tue!! Augh!!!!
Hang in there... you WILL get clearance to take the exam, you WILL take it and pass...
I agree that the frustration of waiting is agonizing. Perhaps if the ANCC could say why it takes so long it might help.
I did get clearance last week to take the FNP test TWO MONTHS after I submitted my complete application and yes I did call the ANCC quite a few times during that interval, especially after they were so nice to tell me that my check had cleared and yes, they did have everything.
AND I did finally take the exam yesterday (in order to take it that soon, I wound up having to drive 500 miles to get to the test site, but worth it as waiting another month to drive only 200 miles would have made me nuts) and I did pass. NOW waiting to get my license so I can work!
Hang in there. Yes, this is easier for me to say now than it was a week ago.

Joan Z Congrats!!!!!!! FNP! :)
Hi Joan,
I just checked the website just now and I am still not able to schedule my exam yet. I don't even want to call ANCC anymore. I am so tired of hearing "Not yet."!!!! Ugh!!! It's been nearly 8 weeks now, how unfair. I'll try calling them tomorrow though, I'm trying very hard to stay positive. The other thing I've been doing to keep myself busy (so I don't obsess over this) is picking up a gazillion shifts at work. I'm there every single day practically! lol
Thank you Joan, I did try, but the letter that I have from ANCC is the "receipt of application notice" so the number I have is not the confirmation number. Still waiting, it is ok....I am trying to calm down the nerves. It will come soon! :wink2:
The ID number on the Receipt of Application Notice is the number that you type in on the Prometric website. You won't get a confirmation number until you actually schedule your exam. I was able to schedule my exam almost a full week before I got the ATT in the mail from the ANCC. Hope this helps.

I just really, really need to vent. I have now waited 7 weeks (since I mailed in my application to take my ACNP exam) and have called the ANCC sooo many times now (7 times to be exact!) and have been checking my ID # on their website sooooo many times....and finally today they tell me on the phone that I am all set, they don't need anything else from me, and my application is complete and I am now eligible to sit for the exam. BUT, they still can't let me schedule the exam today and my ID # still won't work in their website!!! They said if I call back tomorrow, they MIGHT have that info available for me so I can schedule it! What else do they need?!?!? I just don't get it. I am so ready to take this exam, I have been studying since I graduated on June 1st.
All this waiting is such torture. Ugh!!!
