Hi guys,
I got accepted into nursing both El Centro and Mountain View, but now I still have difficulties for choosing which one is better. El Centro is a major nursing school in Dallas, and I heard hospitals prefer El Centro students. Is it right? Some people said it teaches less organization and is on probation while some people said it's good. Mountain view is new on nursing program, so I wonder is it well know as El Centro and how its' quality. You guys can give me some advices. And anyone who is in either these schools can please tell me some pros and cons. Thanks so much

While I am not in either program, I have talked to a few students who were in the El Centro nursing program. Yes, it is unfortunately very unorganized and it is on probation as far as NCLEX scores (right at 70%, according to the Texas BON website), so that's not good. Plus, I believe the North Lake satellite site does a bit better than the El Centro site. Mountain View on the other hand is sitting at 91% but how organization is within the program, I'm not sure. I'd definitely look up some of the other previous threads here on AN and you may get an idea of how the program is. Good luck and congrats on getting accepted into both programs!!!

I agree. I'm two weeks from graduating the El Centro program and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is beyond unorganized. Every semester we fill out a survey as to what is wrong and every semester they continue to do the same thing. I'm not real sure about Mountain View's program, but there is no way it could be any worse than El Centro.
