El Centro Spring 2018 Nursing Program Hopefules

Published

Hello Nursing hopefules!

I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!

Ana, what suppprt classes are needed for the bridge from rn to bsn at uta?? or can you direct me to some info regarding that, its definitely my plan :)

I completed all the course listed in "Courses+ toward various RN to BSN transition program" section of the El Centro ADN Information packet. One those have been completed, you are good to go. All you will need it to take 9 nursing classes and 2 electives at UTA. You may be able to waive the 2 elective, depending on certain classes, certificated you may have, or experience.

How difficult are the Hesi tests at the end of each semester? I'm really stressed about them.

I had a love/hate relationship with HESI. If you study you will be fine. They really do test you over what they taught over that semester. The only one that is different is the Exit one some they test you over a little bit of every semester. I passed my first HESI, failed the second, passed the 3rd, and failed the exit one but in the end I obviously passed it. I think I failed those times cause I did not study. For my exit one I used yourbestgrade to pass it the second time. I would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE the use of that for the final semester. I think it may also be useful for all semester but not technically necessary. Just study.

Thanks so much Ana for the help :)

Are you asking me to join?

Congratulations to everyone who got in! I got accepted to Northlake, but I declined. I got in last minute this Fall at Grayson College. Wish you all the best next semester!

Idk if it's different for El Centro, but has anyone from North Lake received their email about registering for our nursing schedule?

No I haven't either. Another classmate for Northlkae asked me the same thing.

At El Centro our schedule is choosen during Orientation, the staff register our classes for us, and once the classes have been entered econnect, the students pay for the classes

I think you did great! What resources did you study? This will be my third time testing on the Hesi. I'm so scared to take it. I'll be apply for Grayson and el Centro next enrollment
