Hello Nursing hopefules!
I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!
I completed all the course listed in "Courses+ toward various RN to BSN transition program" section of the El Centro ADN Information packet. One those have been completed, you are good to go. All you will need it to take 9 nursing classes and 2 electives at UTA. You may be able to waive the 2 elective, depending on certain classes, certificated you may have, or experience.
I had a love/hate relationship with HESI. If you study you will be fine. They really do test you over what they taught over that semester. The only one that is different is the Exit one some they test you over a little bit of every semester. I passed my first HESI, failed the second, passed the 3rd, and failed the exit one but in the end I obviously passed it. I think I failed those times cause I did not study. For my exit one I used yourbestgrade to pass it the second time. I would STRONGLY ENCOURAGE the use of that for the final semester. I think it may also be useful for all semester but not technically necessary. Just study.
