I can't take micro this summer, I have to take the HPRS and I can't quit my job until the semester starts and I'm afraid taking both will not allow me to focus on my job which isn't fair to my employer. Ya'll please let me know what you'd do since you are there and can testify to the schedule and amount of work. I will not be working at all while in the program. Thanks very much for your replies!
Maybe I'm a dork, but I thought you had to have Micro done by the end of your first semester? I better go read again! :)

You may be able to get it where you can take it later.
I think it's by the end of the 2nd semester, but if you start in the Fall, you can't take it during the next summer.
If you start in the Winter, you have the summer in between 1st and 2nd semesters.
It's doable. Like I posted before, others have done it. They didn't make perfect grades to my knowledge, but they are now through with Micro and still going strong through the program.

It is by the end of the 2nd semester. As long as you pass it, you'll be fine. You do what you have to do and it would be hard to work and take it along with the HPRS over the summer. You'll be fine as long as you are committed to it.
Take care,
Yang

Have you checked both summer 1 and 2 schedules? And all campuses? You might be able to find a micro class that fit your schedule. Good luck,
Katie
Thanks Fun2Care, Yang and LKG6 for your responses. I'm hopeful to meet people like you in my class! :)
Annnnd, while I'm at it... Can you all give me any insight as to what we'll be doing at the orientation session? What choices are made there, any instructor suggestions? (for NLC campus) I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to gut out micro and HPRS this summer...
I don't know anything about the instructors there, except one and I'd steer clear of her. I'll PM you that info. But, as far as the orientation, it was listening to a bunch of people tell you pretty much what is in your acceptance packet. You choose poker chips and then they'll randomly draw numbers to choose clinicals - that's at the very end. The textbook guy will come and talk to you, as will the bookstore people (yes, they are different folks!), as well as Al Tolentino, and probably a couple other people with random information. But, it is required! Anyway, you'll get to meet others in your class and that's probably the best part.
Have fun - when is it?

If you have a Ms. T. on your schedule put her as your last choice. And have fun there! :monkeydance:

Hey ya'll, I decided to take Micro this summer. It seems like a good idea to have it out of the way before my first semester of nursing classes. Bummer is I have to drive over to Richland because it's the only campus with a schedule that fits... I'm certain based on ya'lls feedback I'll be glad I did it with HPRS this summer instead of waiting.
Thanks again!
Good luck in Micro and HPRS. I'm sure you will be glad you did it this way once nursing school starts. :)
