El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

Happy New Years too!

Aren’t we told we need to wear uniform and that’s why we ordered the on-campus uniform earlier so we’ll receive it before class starts?

Yes, that was the purpose , but I wasn’t too sure if it pertained to the first day of class. Now that you mention it does make sense.

I received mine

The sizing on uniform are off, my white xs pants don’t fit but my blue ones do lol, everything else fits fine.

@Sue_ema I believe we have to wear uniform on the first day of class.

By the way, did you order a cardigan? If you do, did you receive it already?

What about the fit test and cpr?? Uniform as well? I’m assuming that we don’t?

Yes I received mine with my uniforms about a week ago. I had to order new white pants and according to my tracking they should be delivered this Thursday , so for those waiting I’m sure you’ll receive them this week.

Cpr and fit test will be the first week of school , according to the day you signed up for, cpr is $55 and fit test is free.

do you think those people who haven’t receive their cardigan can wear a jacket or something to keep warm?

Another classmate hasn’t received hers either, I’m sure you’ll receive this week because if it’s not on time you’ll get them for free. No other sweater is allowed, only cardigan and long sleeve if you have tattoos .

i Have everything except the lab book, I accidentally ordered the 7th edition but we need the 8th, so I’m hoping they allow the 7th .

ebay Has the pdf books for cheap, the only one expensive is the lab book which is only the hard copy . I bought the California Nursing practice book hard copy from eBay and the nursing process concepts and application book hard copy from ecampus.com
