El Camino, Compton, Cypress College Spring 2020 nursing application process

Hi everyone. I applied to El Camino College, Compton College and Cypress College. I was hoping we could help each other out in sharing information. This is my first time applying to any nursing program. All I know for now is that ECC is supposed to send an email to potential candidates to take TEAS on or around Oct 21. What I don’t understand is if we will get the invite around that time or if we will be TESTING around that time. It can be read either way. At compton, the lady at the front desk said they’d be behind one week for testing due to her being gone due to a death in the family. So she said that if I got an invite to take the TEAS elsewhere, to do it and then contact her so that she can tell me where to send it. All I remember from Cypress is that we should get an email by Dec 12 or so and to call the school if we don’t. But I don’t remember what they said as far as the TEAS. I guess I’m wondering if denial letters also get sent when invites for TEAS get sent. Anyway, I’d appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks!

Hi i applied to Compton as well. from my understanding candidates will get an email around October 21st for their teas testing date which should take place in November and from their decisions will be made based on the scores and points. hope that helps.

congratulations and good luck!!! what do you use to study? I am using the ati test prep book and some online videos. i am not really a fan of studying tho so its a struggle.

Well...I’ve been reviewing my anatomy & physiology notes only. I wanted to get through all of that before I jumped into any ATI study guides. I was under the assumption that I had one more month, but now that I only have two wks, I have to figure out how I’m going to study all this material. I met a girl who said she studied the Mometrix book for two wks only (~6hrs/day) and scored 90% so I ordered that book. I’ll also purchase ATI study guided & hope for the best. Make sure you study hard because Compton will probably be the same or behind by one week.

Hi, also applied to El Camino and received an email on Wednesday. I’m so nervous! I’ve been studying for the NLN PAX. I applied to SMC as well and their PAX test is this Tuesday.

I got my El Camino invite yesterday, I feel less stress since I’ve already taken teas. You are taking two different test ? Good luck !

Yes I am. I heard the TEAS is easier though. And thank you!! Were the TEAS like the practice tests in the Mometrix book? That’s what I’m using to study

The questions on teas had the same concept as the book. You should be fine if your other test is harder.
