EKG Class??

Can anyone please tell me where I can take an EKG course so I can get certified?

Specifically in the San Diego area.

Thank you in advance.

I have the same question. I've looked online but haven't found anything. Couple of them are for ECG technicians. I've read that some hospitals may offer it. Haven't tried calling, but that may be a possibility: to call hospitals to see if they have an ECG class?

http://www.flexed.com/cat_Dysrhythmia_60.html (website: flexed.com) is a company that providese education to many contracted hospitals throughout Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego County( few). If a course is offered at a hosptial site, anyone can sign up for it. They have an excellent Dysrhythmia and 12-lead EKG course, but I don't see it offered in San Diego area at this time. (places and times vary throughout the year) Their main teaching facility is in Chino, CA. if you want to travel a little. Worth a look-up :-) Good Luck! Sorry, don't know of any other places.

add on: at flexed.com, you need to look under the title: dysrhythmia interp. & therapeutic modalities for the class i'm referring to.

I'm taking a 3 day EKG course in downtown LA, Sat, Sun & Mon...they also offer it in Garden grove...I' let you know if it's worth the drive Monday night once its over....

O2BSN2B I would really appreciate that thank you.

Has anyone attended a seminar conducted by Pesi Healthcare? http://www.pesihealthcare.com/ They have an ecg seminar in October. It is $179. It is a one day course. I am thinking about taking it.

Hello they offer ekg at sdsu extended learning for $1299 from oct-dec at 6-9 on mon and wed or tue and thurs. I hope this info is useful for you good luck. :D

Try bostonreed.com I believe they offer the course and it's for like $300. I'm unsure if they offer it in San Diego, but they do offer it in Southern California.

OK, took the three day class and...parking in LA was $15.oo/day the last day.But at least the conditioning was on. Saturday & Sunday no AC and windows in old downtown LA building didnt open. The class was taught by an Iraqi MD not licensed in the US. Pleasant personality BUT... He seemed to think passing or throwing white board markers were valuable teaching adjuncts. The pace was too fast for me...I think I'll retake class through an Adult Ed center so I have time to absorb the materials better over a longer period of time. If you know about cardiology via an RN, EMT, or time in the ICU/CCU great! It may be the right class 4 U. Personally I wasted $200.

O2BSN2B - thanks for the info. Sorry it didn't work out for you

Dark40 - I think that might be the class I am looking for because ideally I would like something more than a one day seminar. But that price tag is too much for me :( I will definitely look into when I can afford it though. Thanks for the info.

NurseCubanita - I can't seem to find information regarding an ecg seminar on their website.

Mlok...Call them because they offer a grant for the program

I successfully completed a Wednesday evening class through Simi Valley Adult Ed . It was a grind to go every week from Feb to June for 3 hours, but the Paramedic who taught it knew his stuff and had stories so it wasnt such a grind. We had plenty of hands on experience practicing on each other. It was $695 but the text was pretty good and the instructor first rate.
