Hi,
I did take the assisgnment. The one good thing about Eisenhower is the people are nice. They gave me that test everyone is talking about, forget the name. It was hard but if you study what everyone tells you to you will be fine. I didnt know about it and was upset but I will ask next time. You will be told you will float "everywhere and can not say no even if it is in your contract". But I have found you can say no but be warned they tell you upfront to be nice to staffing office or they will make your stay hell. I have been there a month on vascular telemetry and the work load is okay. I hear medsurg is tough but have never floated there. I am unhappy with my company but am switching next assignment. I took the job for one rate and when the contract was sent it was much lower. But I was not working for a month so I just did it. They have a lot of VIP's and what ever they ask for they get. Very clean hospital and everyone is helpful. They use a scan system for meds and they said "travelers have to have 100% accuracy while staff need only 70%" that scared me but I am not 100% and no one has said anything. I will keep you updated. Housing is easy if you do it like me and rent a room. I went through one in just one night cause she was crazy but I love where I am staying now. The hotels are pricy if you want a nice place but I did that for 2 weeks. The men here are either old or gay but all very nice. I would extend my contract if they asked me right now. hope I answered your questions.

I did a 13 weeker at Eisenhower late last year in the ED. They had begun a HUGE expansion in the EDprojected to last 2 years,15,000sq/ft to 55,000sq/ft. Lotsa noise , lotsa dust.As far as the work, all trauma goes to Desert Medical Center, or JFK. As far as their systems are concerned, forget ratios, it's all on paper for the state. Traveler friendly? Uhhhh nope very cliquish, you will work your ass off , forget help from Charge Nurses, they butt sit, and gab with their GF's, ESP on nights. When I left they had about 40% of staff:travelers. Housing is awesome lotsa Gated Condos, But there ya go...
