What is meant by general education is history, philosophy, humanities, and courses that don't necessarily apply to your major. That's why it's referred to as "general education". Here in the US they apparently want us to be well rounded people. That's the reason why it sometimes takes people longer than 4 years to complete a BSN. Here our ASN is a 4 year program. It's usually 2 years in prerequisites and general education and then another 2 years in the nursing program.
aha i got it
actually we got only one subject [social science] in the first year , then all job related after that ,even these subject i think is job related to

It has been hard to find a nursing job there from overseas
do you have any advice or contacts as to where and how I should apply for nursing jobs??
Any help would be great!..I think we'll be living in Nasr City

What was your nurse education like? Did you have structured clinical and theory hours in areas like Midwifery/Obstetrics, Mental health, Paeds as well as general adult? That is what is going to be looked at when you apply to a state and meet their requirements for foreign trained nurse
