Hi there,
I am interested in being an egg donor nurse. I am having trouble looking up what they do or what their daily responsibilities are. Does anyone have experience being an egg donor nurse?

Do you mean that you want to work in an infertility clinic?

I'm not sure there's such a thing as an "egg donor nurse", but I'll tell you what little information I do know...
With egg donation, there are donors and recipients. The donors and recipients can be associated with the same facility or different facilities. On the donor side, there is someone responsible for recruiting, maintaining a database, matching, scheduling screenings, scheduling legal appointments, offering emotional support, dealing with finances and so on. From what I've seen, this is usually a nurse, but I'm not sure that it has to be. The recipient's clinic/nurse/MA would take care of things on the other side. It's typically one of many duties they have, as egg-donor recipients are not a large part of the patient population. And unless it's a very large operation, I would assume that the coordinator on the donor side also has other unrelated duties.
The retrieval is usually done in some sort of surgical center with a totally different staff (except for the MD, of course). Neither nurse or coordinator (donor or recipient) is involved with that.
The egg-donor coordinators that I've seen are typically very experienced and have worked with fertility clinics for many years.
There are also agencies that do not appear to be associated with clinics, at all. In those cases, the donor (who may live in another state or even another country) is simply introduced to a recipient's clinic for a fee. I'm not sure they do much else ...distance is a huge barrier to getting things started beyond that point.
Hope this helps a little!
Yes, I am interested in fertility clinics. I found a position for an egg donor nurse.
I found a position for an egg donor nurse who helps the donors through the processing. I would communicate with the donor recipient nurse and make sure they are on cycle together. I was looking for someone who may have had experience with this type of position.
