Anyone else "patiently" waiting the next few weeks to hear back about their application to the palm bay program? I had 35 points and I'm crossing my fingers that I got in and trying to not get too excited until letters go out. I'd love to hear from anyone else in the same boat

I am in the same boat. I had almost the same amount of points. We should be hearing back any day now.
About 1 -3 weeks to go now. Good luck to you! Definitely post when you get your letter!
same to you! do you currently work in healthcare?
no, I did but that was a long time ago. I do have a BS in Health Science from UCF though. You?
I am currently doing intern work under a foot and ankle doctor. Its great preparation for nursing. All of my 33 points came from my grades but if i dont get in to the program i should have my degree next time around plus healthcare experience.
The advisor told me that the cut off for cocoa's fall class was 32 so I'd say that your chances are pretty good. It's hard to feel confident until that letter is in hand though =/

I was thinking about attending the college but thought the point system was "over the top". Based on the pots here, I might try it. I really want to get into the surgical nursing side. But with working full time and attending the orientation, I would have to quit my job. Good luck and I hope all of you get in!!
I heard 32 was the cutoff as well. If we both get in we'll have to chat about preparing for the program to start. Keep in touch and let me know if you hear anything.
btw, my name is Mike.

Legitimate question =) A couple of reasons. 1. my husband's job is here in palm bay and he is the reason I can go to do nursing without having to work. 2. I have a 9 month old and the accelerated bsn program in orlando (only one in the area unless I want to drive 3+ hours each way) is a time commitment of about 80 hrs per week (or so the advisers have told me). 3. I don't really see it as a step backward because the NP program at UCF will accept my BS and the ADN in lieu of the BSN. It's a conditional situation but they said that since my bachelors is health science it isn't an issue. Hopefully that makes sense.
And smalltownhero (mike), name is Kristen. We should definitely keep in touch over the next few weeks. I'm getting ridiculous about checking my mail =D
Hope you were not offended by my question. I'm in Palm Bay too and I drive to Orlando twice a week, class meets for 4 hours and every 5 weeks I start 2 new classes.
It is an accelerated BSN Bilingual program. And it is draining my pocket with all the gas I have to get. Good luck!
