EFSC Class of 2022 (Fall 2020 Start)

Published

Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have applied for Fall 2020 admission into EFSC’s ADN program. I know there’s a lot of uncertainty with everything right now so I hope this serves as a way for us to share concerns, thoughts, and info.

Ahhh CONGRATS!!

I was accepted into the nursing program! I had no idea the number of people accepted was lowered

For everyone wanting stats comparisons

Overall GPA: 3.61

I don't remember my GPA for my pre-reqs but my only B's were in General psych, Humanities, and Chemistry, while the rest were A's.

TEAS: 82.7%

Also, I'm not sure if anyone is looking for any roommates to live somewhere close to campus. But if you are, let me know!!

I'm 20 years old, not much of a partier, but I may be getting a cat (however this is still on the table for me!), and I feel like having a fellow nursing student would be super beneficial!!

Hello all!

When did you guys apply ????

I applied for the Transition RN program to start in the Fall and our application deadline was extended to 5/30/20. Not sure if it was the same deadline date for the traditional track you all applied for?

Our original deadline was March 15th and got pushed to March 30th. Most of us received letter May 29th

OK so about 2m later... thank you!

Hi everyone, please those who got into the program, what were your composite TEAS score and English reading and comprehension score. please if you don't mind sharing. Planning on taking the TEAS again. Thank you.

@Dbbie

I got an 82.7% cumulative for my TEAS

Reading: 78.7%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 72.3%

English: 87.5%

The hardest part for me was the science as it covers a lot! This was my third attempt and normally I had previously scored in the 90s for my other tests in reading, however I rushed through it and didn't focus on it as much since the science and english were previously holding me back. My advice is to study enough to get that minimum reading score and then some, and then REALLY focus on the others (ESPECIALLY science!) Hope this helps and good luck on your next attempts!

Thank you @ Ashlynn Merrill, thank you for the response, appreciate it. Is this your first time applying?

@Dbbie

It was my second time, but the point system from last year made me less competitive as I never attended that group session that was worth like 5 whole points. My grades and scores were the same, so them changing it to being off of the point system worked really well in my favor. As well as last time I didn't have any letters of recommendation, and this time I did.

I also should make a point to say I already have my associates degree, which I also know is a bonus during the application process.

Oh good then, the change favored you. I was told that if you have applied before in the past, you're already up on the list. I wish you the very best and thank you.
