EFSC Class of 2022 (Fall 2020 Start)

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us who have applied for Fall 2020 admission into EFSC’s ADN program. I know there’s a lot of uncertainty with everything right now so I hope this serves as a way for us to share concerns, thoughts, and info.

I’m not too sure how they calculate in the pre req GPA. Where did you take your pre-reqs at, and if you don’t mind me asking, what was your first grades on them? I believe that if you “failed” the classes and then re took them, they would count the grade in which you didn’t fail, but I’m not exactly too sure. (If that makes sense). The fact that you have a BA is also another big factor that can help you & your TEAS score is good. This is also the only school I applied to also. I’ve really wanted to go to EFSC nursing school Bc I have many friends in it already.

So I took it at Broward college and back then, lab and class were two separate grades. I got a d in the class and an F in the lab. Stupid me, right?! I eventually took it in Virginia Beach at a CC and got an A. All other prereqs were A’s. I am so anxious that I am not going to get in. If I don’t I will take stats and nutrition and apply to UCF too.

I don’t think that would be a problem then. I believe they would count the A grades that you got. Did you submit all transcripts from all the colleges you’ve attended? & I am so anxious as well. I did pretty bad on my TEAS test, I’m just hoping they don’t go solely off the test. Also, regarding clinical; my friends who are in the program now, their clinical are currently cancelled but are assumed to re start in August if covid continues to slow down.

Yes I submitted all. What did you get on you final TEAS score? Do you think they only weigh reading only? I got a 78 on reading and 80 overall. I got an 84 but that was over 4 years ago. LOL

yes, they only count the reading section of the TEAS test, that was one of the new things when they changed the selection criteria. I think they changed it to where they look at the whole aspect of your application instead of focusing on the TEAS like previous years. I got a 75 on the reading section

Oh dang! I did not know that, thank you for so much info.

I didn’t see this thread prior to making my own thread so I’m glad to see you guys have applied too and are in the same boat I am! Although, seeing the 12 week waiting game is making me even more anxious! I assumed it would be pushed back after the deadline was moved to the 30th but end of June is so crazy! @nursedroid I can’t believe you got an overall 92.7 on your TEAS score- that’s awesome!

I just called and he said we should still here back by the end of May. And if we don’t receive a letter to call then. And the deadline for the application wasn’t extended just to get in the other paperwork

Both times I called I spoke to a female at the Melbourne campus that said 10-12 weeks from March 30th for notification. So, I guess we will see what happens.

Oh WOW!! I’m so nervous!! I don’t like that there’s miscommunication going on ? that’s never a good sign. All the other past threads said they knew when the letters were mailed out. I think Covid-19 is really going to mess with when we find out. But I do hope we find out sooner rather than later- I’m getting super anxious.

Well I’ve been checking my mail 2x a day for the last week LOL. So I hope it’s sooner rather than later.
I just called the 7575 health science number and a guy answered so I don’t know from which campus. But looks like they’re not even sure.

Me too @Merelyn Matias!! LOL! How do you feel about your chances?!
