Hi everyone! For the ones of us that start on the 22nd we only have ONE WEEK! I am so excited, nervous, anxious, happy......everything. I have a couple of shots to get this week and I am done with everything. Is everyone ready? :yelclap: :w00t:
I will be starting on Monday as well! I think I have everything I need... I am most worried about daycare and the cost involved. Fulltime care for my 3 year old is $585 per month and about $200 for my 6 year old. Kind of hard to come up with the money when I make none (I have been a SAHM for 6 years) and I do not qualify for loans since I already have a BA. I probably should have waited until my youngest was in school, but it just worked out now. When I got on the waitlist it had a 3 semester wait...now it is 6-8 semesters. I really don't have any other option and I know we won't regret it in the long run...but ouch!!
We start back on Aug. 31, with orientation. It will include 2nd year students, first year students, and students for the new LVN/LPN class. Thinking back to Aug. 2004, when there were 57 strangers scattered throughout the auditorium. All wondering, what did we get ourselves into. Now one year later, there are no strangers among us. We have shared moments of happiness as people busted there butts to pass that one critcal test, to moments of total frustration as some didn't pass that one critcal test. Shared the smiles, the hugs, and the tears as a group of friends tried helping each other thru a really stressfull time. Now, one year later, and 3 semesters behind us, we find ourselves ready to embark on our final year. But I really hope we take time to make the new students feel as comfortable as possible since we know how they will be feeling. Lost and alone. Sor for you just starting this journey, good luck and keep the faith. And for those starting ur 2nd and last year, you have come a long way baby. Be kind to the newbies and help them.
Be Safe and Enjoy The Ride

I start on the 22nd too. I've done nothing but shop, shop, shop for the last week. I'm finally done and am pretty sure I have everything I need to starts school and clinicals. I'm not sure if I'm more excited or nervous at this point. We have an optional all day class on Wednesday called Success Strategies in Nursing. Then we have a buddy tea on Thursday where we buy our patches, take pictures for badges and pick up the supplies we ordered at the orientation. Here's to our last week of freedom
