Hi Everyone!
I am a newly graduated RPN in Ontario.. I am pleased to announce I got accepted to the bridging program at centennial college with Ryerson, I will be starting in Fall 2011. Currently i am not employed I am still looking for a job. I plan to work as much as I can before I begin school again. Then I am thinking of doing p/t or casual while in school...
Here is my question..
Anyone know of any bursaries or grants that certain hospitals provide for further education?? Or anything provided by rpnao or cno? I know there is a 1500 dollar per year set in by the govt for further education. Any help would be much appreciated.
THank you!
:)

Your best bet is to get hired at a facility. You can then inquire about tuition reimbursement. Each facility has their own policies.

Be thankful you're not in Alberta. You require around 1700 hours paid employment before doing the bridge.
Wow that's high. Approximately one year of employment?
Yup, it's almost a year. That's to get into Athabasca and do it via distance. If you go through the UofA or GMU, you don't get much credit period. Usually just the academic transfer classes, so most people are looking at nearly three full years.
The Bridge in AB does no-one any favours. The best bridge disappeared along with the diploma RN. I think it ran for around four intakes.
