Edinboro Innovative Fall 2017

Published

I was accepted to the 2017, Edinboro University Innovative Program,Fall Cohort.

I am thinking it would be good idea to start getting acquainted with each other and make a FB page for our class.

There is so much we will need to plan for, and we can help each other as a group.

After all, we will be spending 15 mo together and it only makes sense we start getting our group rolling; as time will fly.

Yes, I was a little surprised to see flights for close to $400. I figured I'd visit in April, but it's not looking so likely. I hear you on the Google maps, street views... here I come.

Congratulations Kristin,

it will be great to find a roommate to share. I am very serious about my studying so I would like a roommate that's focus and also neat. There is an apartment complex about 3 minute drive from campus. If you are interested inbox me at [email protected]. Thanks

Hi You All

Does anyone know if we're getting an admissions information packet such as having all our vaccines up to date, CPR card, etc.?

My $$$$ Admission Deposit was not recognized, (just got it fixed yesterday), so I haven't been assigned to an actual nursing advisor.

Any comments/thoughts to this resoect?

Panalito

i spoke to Dana from the nursing office he said that they will send out the admission packages sometimes in march. That will have info on how to register for classes and other information regarding the class schedule. I did receive my financial aide award letter and the health form for my doctor to fill out last week. So check your mail in the next few days. Make sure to fill out your fafsa application.

So I'll be moving back to Meadville within a month. Your best bet is to get on Craigslist and search Meadville & Erie apartments. But be cautious! My fiance & I lived in the 4th set of apartments on this link:

ERA-Richmond - Rentals

I see a lot of postings about apartments in Meadville, but I'm sure Erie does too. The weather during the winters are pretty hit or miss. I believe Edinboro is in a snow band and will probably see more snow than Meadville. But consider the drive. If you've never driven in snow OR don't like trying to drive your car in several inches of it, it may be better to look for a place closer to Edinboro/Erie. Meadville is about is roughly a 45 minute drive to Erie & a 30 minute drive to Edinboro.

My friends & boyfriend have lived in the Edinboro County Square Apartments. They loved it & I've been to their current apartment. It's pretty nice for what it is. They're not far from campus at all. Im getting a few more details on it from my friend so I'll try to check & post back on here.

One of my friends is currently a student in the Innovative Nursing Program and she's been providing me with information about how the program is treating her. While she absolutely loves it & finds it rewarding, it is obviously a very rigorous program. We'll have class about 4 times a week. 2 days of clinicals that ar 6 hours each. 2 days of classes for 5 hours each. 1 day off during the week & of course weekends off. There are a lot of projects and assignments as expected. Idk how many of you plan to work, but she said only about 3-5 out of the 20 students in the program are working, and they're only able to work part time. A lot of them dont work. Im sure people have done it, but most of the people I've talked to STRONGLY suggest you don't work a full time job & run the risk of falling behind in the program. Majority of the clinicals will be up in Erie. Someone told me they only spent a few weeks in Meadville.

Like I said, I'll try to keep updated & check this page every couple of days in case someone has any questions. Or if anyone is from the area, it'd be great to talk to you too! :)

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I have an interview on March 8th and am a little nervous. Would anyone mind sharing their experiences with their interview?

Hi hbs1521

Just be yourself, that's the best advice I can give you and give your best honest answers.

:nurse:

Keep us posted. Best wishes.

Thank you Soooooooo Much Tatj08.

Your post really helps to ease some of the feelings of uncertainty when we're so far away and can't really go check and talk to others.

I feel super lucky you are helping us with info.

:)

Thank you so much Taj08 for your help. I will look into the link and check out near by apt complexes.

Hi hbs1521

Is your interview for the Fall Cohort or the Spring Cohort?

Best Wishes

Does anyone know the Scrubs color (s) for the Innovative Program?

Hi You All:

I have created a FB page for our Cohort.

Edinboro Innovative Nursing FALL 2017.

In there, I have shared a map I created with many apartment complexes around the University.

I invite you to join the FB Page and Private Group.

I'm still working in the privacy for the page and the page in general.

I wonder if there is a way the University can help us to reach out the other selected students.

Any Ideas or suggestions?
