I've had the same issue. My only thought is new grads are preferred for some reason - fresh, bright eyed, happy, not jaded, easy to train, and won't talk back. My job market is difficult too. I'm looking for job markets that are a bit easier to break into...what is back home? Have you gone to job fairs?

Hello,
I am a ED RN of 4 years with some RRT work as well. I am very interested in pivoting into ICU, I live in work in the bay area (Stanford). I have my BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS and PCCN. I have put in at least 60 applications to various ICU's at different hospitals and I haven't even gotten as much as an interview. I am getting discouraged and almost at the point of moving back home since I know I could get ICU experience there. Any tips? Tricks? Advice?
Btw I have also applied to Stanford's CCTP program twice and have not had a luck.
Godspeed
