I currently am having to do a project for my nursing research class about interesting topics in nursing. We develop a PICO question, and I was wondering what do y'all think would be a good topic to observe?
My instructor said we should do one on double gloving, but a person in my group said that she feels like you would get better research article results with something to do with hand washing vs hand sanitizer.. Any suggestions? I want this to be interesting and not bore my classmates on the day I present.

Have you searched "evidence-based practices in nursing" to get some ideas about what might interest you?
There is also a great little book about "ritualistic practices in nursing" (I forget the author but I know it's at Amazon) that's good for a laugh AND is a serious book on evidence-based practice origins. There is a follow-up book, too.

My advice would b to pick a subject that has many research studies to back it..when I did this project, I should have looked at study availability first, my topic was hard to find RCTs. Do something easy like turning q2 to prevent bedsore, oral care to prevent VAP, Central line care to prevent bloodstream infection etc....

Noise on units and quiet times, especially in peds is a hot topic. VAP prevention, central
Line infection prevention, bedsore prevention are all big ones also.
