Hi everyone! I'm starting this thread for those who applied for ELAC Spring 2026. Good luck to everyone!

I got the same email. But it didn't tell me explicitly that I got in or not. Does it mean we got in?

I think it does because it wasn't briefed as part of the application criteria during the information session and they didn't call it an interview. It's probably just to verify the authenticity of information provided. However, I couldn't find any history from previous cohorts so this is all speculation 😅

What made u guys apply to ELAC? This is so exciting

I have been looking at old cohorts all nurses posts and on Reddit. I've seen more negative reviews towards the program than bad and even on rate my professor for the nursing professors aren't that good are any of you guys nervous when it comes to that or have any of you guys heard good things about the program or know anybody that went to it? Do the negative reviews also scare you guys or is it just me?

Hi, my cousin actually graduated from ELAC a few years ago and is now a nurse practitioner. She was one of the cohorts before they were being threatened to be shut down. I've heard bad things about ELAC program as well, though I still applied because my cousin came out as an amazing nurse from that program. As far as the bad rate my professor reviews, another school I got into also has very terrible reviews regarding the professors. So do a few other schools such as Cypress and I can't remember who else. I think wherever we go, there is always going to be something negative to be told about the schools. I think if we go in confident, determined, and put all of our focus into our classes and assignments, then we'll do amazing and come out as great nurses. At least that's my perspective 🙂

@mxssaaa thank you. I appreciate your comment. Ik every program will have its ups and downs. And I know every experience will be different but reading about all the negative reviews just had made me really nervous. I agree with the you tho. I plan on going in with a positive mindset and ready to work hard. Do you know anything about clinical placements and stuff ? Besides your cousin's experience, what else made u apply there ?

Honestly, me too. I was freaking out because of the reviews and previous students thoughts on the school's program that I've read on this forum. However, it's been my dream for years to become an RN so I'm gonna go in with a confident and positive mindset, though I'm still really scared haha. As for clinical placements for ELAC, I am not sure. Although if you Google "ELAC class search" and input "Spring 2026, nursing courses" in the search engine through the school website, it'll show you some possible clinical locations. I see UCLA Health and Kaiser when I checked right now. That's all it says. However, I'd expect it to be any hospitals or medical centers around Monterey Park. The school I got into shows us the exact hospitals when I used the search engine for Spring 2026 through their website, and it shows a bunch of hospitals and medical centers around the school/in the SGV. I applied here because it's super competitive to get into any program and I was just applying to as many nursing schools as I can. (I applied to about 7) Those are really the only two reasons 🙂

@mxssaaa@melomelo  I hope it all goes well for u!  Has anybody done their meeting yet?

scheduled mine for next week

hopefully goes smoothly

I just did my meeting today! I met with the assistant director. She's very kind and the meeting itself was informal and super short, like less than 10 minutes. She just asked a few questions and filled out a worksheet with my answers.

How many times did you take the TEAS test? Did you submit all attempts?

Did you retake any pre-reqs? If so, what were the grades?

Any life event or special circumstances you want to share?

Did you have anything you forgot to mention on the app that you want to tell us?

Good luck to everyone!

@zanunu thank u for sharing! I hope u get in. Did they say how long after the meeting u will hear back? Did she say anything that made u think if u got in? Did she ask why ELAC LOL? Also does anybody know when the semester starts?

I also had my interview today, I was asked the same questions as @Zanunu. She also asked me what other schools I applied to and if they've reached out yet. She asked me if they offered me a spot would I take it, I said yes. In the beginning she said "this will be a brief interview, no need to be nervous." I still was, especially when she asked me if there is any more information I want to add to my application. I wish I mentioned my volunteering experience, although I'm not sure if that is even something they consider. She also asked if I have any degrees and from where. She asked me if I ever repeated any classes in general. Next thing I knew the interview was over, I had questions prepared but I wasn't sure if that would make her late for the next interview so I didn't ask them. I agree it's an informal interview because none of the questions asked were about getting to know me or my why. I am curious as to why they don't use zoom, maybe they want to see who is serious about getting in, IDK. Anyways, I'll just sit here now with my anxiety until I hear back. :,) also visitor parking is on the 5th floor at parking lot 4, $2.

I had mine yesterday, same questions. Really just verifying some info and asking if there was anything we didn't get to say or wanted to add on the application - maybe like special life circumstances or situations?  She said she thought we'd hear within a week or so, but she wasn't positive. I'm guessing by the end of next week? Did anyone hear any differently?
