Hey there! So I just recently got accepted into a BSN nursing program. We start this July and our schedule consists of Clinical and Emergency Preparedness, Dynamics of Nursing, and Health Assessment. Does anybody know what these courses entail and any tips for getting a headstart on them? Do you know of any good reference books to read? I plan on getting the textbooks for these courses ASAP so I can read ahead.

Thank you!

The names of your other classes confound me a bit, but I can tell you about health assessment. It teaches you the proper techniques for assessing a patient, the normals and abnormals for each system found through assessment, and what abnormals may mean. If you really want to get a head start in that one, I would suggest that you take a look at the cardiovascular and pulmonary sections. Those will probably be the two systems that you'll go over in class first.

Plus, you get to play with your stethoscope!
