Hi, I plan to attend d'youville from Canada in 2022. I wonder if anyone goes to d'youville like me. I have lots of questions that could not be answered by school. Where is the placements canadian students have to go?Canada side or US side? Does the school finds students placement or students need to find placements themselves Canada? How do people manage school, study, life in general? How people pay for school in general. Any information is greatly appreciated.
I spoke with a lady from CNO who was not open to speaking about DYC and that all approved school are on the CNO website. When I mentioned I know some DYC NP graduates they said that just because they are registered it before doesn not mean they will recognize the program in few years. I think we better join the FB group of current DYC students and graduates.
Thank you so much for your responses! It is reassuring to know that DYC might not have been such a bad idea though after another week of inconsistencies I almost gave up... and CNO response made me super concerned.
Are you solely an online student?
I found as online student it is very difficult to get timely help. The conversation is solely by email. The campus must be super busy because the respond time takes few days to a week. There is so much to learn on your own and left to self discovery! I wish they would do some courses in person.
Is the BookReady program worth it? how does it work? how much does it cost? I love the online book resource but I already bought my books. What is your experience and suggestion? Is there another way to buy online books?
I opened up crossborder RBC account to save me on the extra fees (5%+ is a lot extra for bank and transfer fees).
How far in advance should we start looking for clinical, what is the process, how hard is it to find placements and who is the most knowledgable and resourceful person to assist?
Does DYC prepares you for OSCE exam and final exams?
Can you transfer between canadian provinces with DYC NP degree? I know BC needs OSCE.
I would love to join the facebook group. Please advise how. I am very grateful.

Thank you Catharis for sharing. I started DYC MN-FNP program in 2023 and I am finding difficulty connecting with Canadian students. I live in Toronto and I also have worry about being able to practice in Ontario as CNO does not recognize DYC NP Program.
For those who graduated, are you able to work in Ontario as NP? I am getting concerned. CNO told me they can't guarantee they will approve DYC in few years despite there are DYC NP graduates working in Ontario already.
How rigorous process is it to register with CNO after graduating?
For us DYC MN-FNP students- is there a FB site where we can connect or exchange experiences/ struggles and help each other as we go through the program? I love to connect.
Hello, I'm also starting the FNP online program in fall 2023 and live in the GTA. I would love to connect and share experiences throughout the program!

There are many Canadian, DYU NP students. I know of many who have graduated and are registered with the CNO and working as NPs in Ontario. There's also a facebook group. Though not specific for DYU, it is a group of all Canadian NPs many who are DYU graduates.
I have 2 semesters left in the program and I'm happy to answer any of your questions.
Hello, I'm starting my FNP program in fall 2023 and I would really appreciate it if you could add me to the facebook group. I would appreciate the guidance and help regarding finding placements.
There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.
One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.
Two: Premium members may create a "club" by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on "Create A New Club" in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.
References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.
Thank you.

Anyone recently started the FNP or the PMHNP program at D'Youville? I applied for Spring 2023, looking for some info about the program? Thank you!
Hi my name is Sasha did you end up starting the PMHNP at this school? If so any pointers or information you can share please.
TheWholeHealthNurse said:Hi, I live in Oakville and finishing up my final year in DYC FNP program. I found it to be a challenging program tbh. They do not find you clinical placements, however, they do provide you with potential placements based on where you live. I got very lucky and a placement just fell into my lap?
Overall I would say it's a good program a little disorganized sometimes which I found was pretty normal for my RPN and BScN?
Hello there. Would you mind elaborating a bit more regarding the clinical situation, please?

Hello, you may be about to complete your NP Program or perhaps done already. I wanted to ask if where are you doing your clinical placement and where do you plan to take your board exam? Thanks for the response.
