Hi everyone,
I'm a high school senior who's quite interested in nursing. In fact, I know that I want to be a pediatric nurse practitioner.
One of the schools I'm looking at is D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY, and the main reason for that is that it's got a 5-year BSN/MSN program so rather than having to do my undergrad stuff and then apply to a graduate program, I could streamline it with one continuous program and undergrad tuition the entire time.
So, what I'm wondering is what do you guys think of D'Youville? I mean, is it a respectable school for nursing? And is the 5 year program worth it?
Thanks!

hello,
I was accepted into DYC. It is a comprehensive program and there seems to be a lot of support within the department. They claim to have the best program in new york...regardless you can get your masters in one extra yr and at the undergraduate rate. That is worth it

how hard is it to get in toD'Youville for nursing? I have an associates degree in medical assisting and I am wondering if any of the calsses I took will help me get into the nursing program? for medical assisting I had to take A&P 1 & 2 but it didnt include a lab at all and I took medlab which touched a little bit on chemstery but not much and i also took pharmoclogy which tought how to give meds by a syrnge and orally and we also did vinnapuncture by vaccume tube. So i am not sure how hard it will be.
Hi, from what I understand about the program you need to have your classes from an accredited institution so they can transfer. DYC will only transfer classes that fit into the curriculum. I am not sure if anatomy without a lab will be sufficient. The nursing coordinator at DYC is very helpful, contact the deptarment. DYC probably has the easiest nursing admissions, all you need is a 2.5 overall gpa. If you have over a 2.7 you are awarded transfer scholarships.
I found out on Friday that I got accpeted to Dyouville for there Nursing Program I start In the Fall of this year
