I am currently waiting for an acceptance letter from DSCC for the LPN to ASN fast-track. I was wanting to see if anyone has attended the nursing program there and if so what is it like. I am really excited and Im praying that everything will go well.
Hey everyone..... I know this post is old but I was wondering is it hard to get in DSCC? Can someone tell me their GPA, HESI test score and what is the whole entry process? So curious! I was doing research on the program today and I just wanted to see is it REALLY competitive! Thanks in Advance!
Congrats to all of you. I am a recant graduate nurse from DSCC. Got my pin on May 8th of this year. The program is a very hard program but you can do it. I don't know what facility you will be attending your classes at so I can't tell you much about instructors but I had some really great instructors. They have changed a lot this year pertaining to the program but all of which will be to your benefit. Some of the changes I wish we could have had that's how much you will benefit from the changes. My advice is study hard, find great friends, and always find sometime to chill out (easier said than done.) You all CAN DO IT!!!
I got in on my first try but did have some classmates that had to try twice to get in. Not many of them had to try twice though. They look a lot at your pre-reqs and the entrance exam is a HESI exam that test over your pre-reqs at least it was for me but that was 2 years ago because I went in to get my R.N. I wasn't a L.P.N. I believe you can do it though.
Thanks alot! Yea that's what I'm trying to do the RN program. I have all of my prereq's and coreq's done that they require except that dag on math course! What's that all about! I want to try to apply to the school but I think I'm gonna have to hang it up because I want to be in a nursing program by spring 2010 and I have to take the math class before I get in the program! I don't know though! Thanks for the info though! I will think of something!
Yea I was looking at that! I tried to see when I could take it in the summer, but they only have one for the second summer session in dyersburg...I think! I'm going to look again! Thanks alot prudence09! I will def keep in touch with you about this program! And keep you updated! LOL!:yeah:
Okay Prudence09...I found out some more info! I can take it in the fall 2009 since it ends in oct. I am attending another school in the fall also(NWCC) but I'm taking easy classes. Do you think that it would be dumb to attend two different schools in the fall for that small amount of time?
Well I don't think it's dumb but you need to look into the money situation and the logistics of driving to two different places. Look into the schedule of the math class and then look at your other classes. The math course is not hard, it's basic math so juggling the classes shouldn't be a problem. I would just consider the driving part of it. Oh, yeah I'm on a night schedule because of my job so you probably won't see me much on here during the day but I will always check back as often as I can and make sure you keep me posted.
