Duke University MSN Spring 2023

Published

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone had applied to Duke for MSN (AGACNP, AGAPNP, Ortho, etc) for Spring 2023. I know some that are eligible for early decisions have heard back for interview scheduling and other than that I have not heard from anyone about this semester applications at all. I applied January and status is still Submitted and have heard nothing else. Hope everyone is well.

Anyone else apply and haven't heard about an interview? I feel like I should prepare myself for a rejection as this point.

I have not heard back. I applied for Post-Master's to DNP.

I haven’t heard anything either ?

I applied for post masters pmhnp and haven't heard back either regarding an interview.  I did call and they said interviews are done on a rolling basis so I don't think they are quite finished yet.....

So I just completed my interview for the NNP program. Honestly, it went terribly. The woman interviewing me was so harsh, rude, and short with me. She seemed to dislike me right away and immediately said "I didn't know if you were coming."

I logged in and was in the waiting room at 4:44, my interview was supposed to begin at 4:45. She didn't let me in till 4:46 and then said that as if I hadn't logged in on time. I tried to just shrug it off and do my best, but she was not warm or welcoming the entire time. Not that she needed to be, but she made me feel quite stupid and silly for some of my answers. By the end of it I was nearly in tears. I don't know what happened or what I did wrong, but I doubt she scored me well and it will probably really affect my admission chances.

I hope everyone else has a better experience and wish you all the best of luck. xoxox

OMG. I bet you had the same faculty interviewing you. I am really just pissed off and don't even care if I am accepted anymore. I thankfully got into Georgetown and a few other schools. My interviews there were great and I felt very welcome and comfortable. I couldn't believe how crappy I felt at the end of my duke interview. I could barely think straight halfway through because of how nervous and unwelcome I felt.

@JeanneRN I tried to PM you, but I can’t on here! I felt the exact same way in mine! I was very disappointed because it wasn’t at all what I was expecting!

@jeanneRN @CaliRN3 hello ladies I just finished my NP interview for FNP program. I too have never felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable in an interview. She was of the nursing faculty, not alumni. As I would answer the question she would interject another question and made it seem like I was being not detailed. She was harsh and rude cutting me off trying to explain a question that she asked me in regards to my answer. I couldn't even finish with my answer for the why family nurse practitioner. I honestly thought because I was black. She made me feel so stupid. I literally cried to my mom right after. This wasn't how I was expecting it to go AT ALL! I was prepared for the situational questions and had different scenarios to draw from. So it wasn't like I wasn't prepared. smh I don't think she will rate me high.

OMG. I'm so sorry you experienced this. Did you interview today? You probably went soon after me

@JeanneRN Yeah, I was so sad. Yes I just had my interview today 5:30pm today. I think it was the same lady

Does anyone have an idea of when we will hear back?
