  1. I was accepted to the Neonatal NP Program :) My interview was terrible so I am very surprised, to say the least.
  2. OMG. I'm so sorry you experienced this. Did you interview today? You probably went soon after me
  3. OMG. I bet you had the same faculty interviewing you. I am really just pissed off and don't even care if I am accepted anymore. I thankfully got into Georgetown and a few other schools. My interviews there were great and I felt very welcome and comfortable. I couldn't believe how crappy I felt at the end of my duke interview. I could barely think straight halfway through because of how nervous and unwelcome I felt.
  4. So I just completed my interview for the NNP program. Honestly, it went terribly. The woman interviewing me was so harsh, rude, and short with me. She seemed to dislike me right away and immediately said "I didn't know if you were coming." I logged in and was in the waiting room at 4:44, my interview was supposed to begin at 4:45. She didn't let me in till 4:46 and then said that as if I hadn't logged in on time. I tried to just shrug it off and do my best, but she was not warm or welcoming the entire time. Not that she needed to be, but she made me feel quite stupid and silly for some of my answers. By the end of it I was nearly in tears. I don't know what happened or what I did wrong, but I doubt she scored me well and it will probably really affect my admission chances. I hope everyone else has a better experience and wish you all the best of luck. xoxox
  5. That sounds lovely ? But wow I am pissed for you about the essay though!! Did you hear anything or get a reference submission email? I just got an email to enter references, but I don't know if that means they are going to accept me or if they do this to decide who to go with based of references. Follow up a bunch, is my advice. Do you have contact with a recruiter? I think that is usually super super helpful too. Also regarding the start date, yes it is July 29 based on what I have been told and what the former cohort start dates were.
  6. You can see my comment above ^ Did you get a call from anyone?
  7. Hi all! Sorry I am a bit late to this thread. I applied to all the OR fellowship spots and was called a few weeks back by the main program recruiter. She asked which fellowship I wanted to do the most and I said periop, and then she asked at which location, to which I told her lenox hill. She set me up with an on demand video interview and after I completed that she had me schedule the in person interview at Lenox Hill. I did the interview on Monday, 06/06, and I think it went well. I was so nervous at first that my voice was shaking, but the people interviewing me (2 OR directors) were very reassuring. After we spoke for a while they asked if I would like to go shadow in the OR right then and there. I of course said YES and got to see an awesome emergent surgery. One of the directors asked me to email her an essay about my experience in the OR and said she would follow up. I just completed the essay and sent it to her email, so fingers crossed I am on the right path here. Anyone else joining the periop fellowship?
  8. Hi! I am about to submit my application for the MSN- NNP program. Has anyone else applied to this specialty? Also curious if any of y'all have an idea of the acceptance rate for Duke's MSN? I don't know if I am a strong enough applicant, honestly. My BSN GPA was 3.79, and my ADN was 3.62. But I only have a little over a year of critical care experience (level III NICU) as an RN. I know they really value and require specific experience for the programs, regardless of specialty. Keep me updated on admission statuses, even if not applying to the same specialty! I think either way the core credits for MSN will be completed by everyone together, so I hope we will all be classmates in the Spring ?

Hi! I also applied to this program with the Nurse-Midwifery specialty track. Good luck to you. Keep me updated with the status of your admission if you can.
  10. Hey!! I have an interview Monday with the nurse manager of a unit at MSK. I don’t know how to DM you but am interested in your experience so far, and also wanted to know about what the base pay is for the new hires. I have 6 months of experience but am still going to be in the residency program if I’m offered the job. I have a good feeling about it and hope the NM likes me enough to give me a chance
