Hey!
I just a job with Big Duke for their Spring ED residency and wanted to connect with other new nurses. I think having a good support group and knowing people throughout the hospital is always helpful, especially at such a big hospital. I am also moving to the area with my 3 kids in January, we've never lived in NC so any advice of places to go and things to do would also be fun!
Hey everyone ?
I know I'm getting ahead of myself since I graduate in December. I wanted to hear some feed back from those of you that went through the residency program at Duke. I'm from Miami, but I'm potentially moving to NC. I saw Duke as being an amazing place to work. How's the work culture? How's the living and housing situation? What's the patient to nurse ratio? Any pros/cons?
Thank you kindly,
Camila

Raleigh would be your best bet, Durham isn’t far from Raleigh and I think has a younger population, but both are college towns. Morrisville would be close as well. There’s a duke university hospital new grad facebook group for those looking for roommates but it will all be in Durham.

Yeah, it feels like such a long wait between graduating to actually working because of the NCLEX and licensing, the time just drags. Luckily moving across country has kept me occupied a bit. Are you going to be days or nights?
