I would definitely do some role playing before the 6th! It was way more laid back than I had thought going in. I was super nervous but they are extremely nice and welcoming!! Remember they want you as much as you want them! Getting an interview is the hardest part. Just be yourself and take a breath before you answer and you will do fine! Google behavioral-based interview questions, that helped me prepare.
GOOD LUCK!
hey there! I have an interview later this month and would love any advice on the interview process and shadowing. I am coming from a different state so this is a major decision for me. Also, did they mention when this program starts? Thanks!
I am also coming from a different state! (CA) and to answer your other question i think they base your start date on when you pass the nclex.
Hey, I just noticed you interviewed for the adult medicine unit. Did you get the job? I just applied and got an email yesterday to interview for the Adult medicine unit as well. I'd love to hear about your experience and any advice you have. I am also from out of state (MD) so it would be an expense to travel there for the interview and separate shadow day.

still waiting for an offer. got an email from manger today saying she is going to review my references. (good sign?) my interview at Duke regional did not include a shadow experience, I was taken on a tour instead. the interview wasn't bad, they made me feel welcome and at ease.
I think that's a very good sign if they're reviewing your references. I always hate the waiting period though! My interview is at Duke University Hospital so I'm not sure how much different my experience is going to be. It's some kind of "open house" where I have an actual interview but I guess so do some other candidates at different times. Then we're supposed to meet the managers, staff, have a tour etc... I'm starting to feel a bit more tense and nervous since it's coming up in a few days! The fear of the unknown can be pretty stressful! I think I'll feel better once I actually get there...at least I hope! I hope you have some good news soon as well!

I haven't seen a recent thread for the Aug, Sept, Oct 2015 applicants so here I am! I'm looking for current and past applicants who have interviewed with Duke and could provide some helpful tips! I applied during the first of September and was contacted a week later with an interview invitation. My interview/shadowing date is 9/25. ANY and all tips are welcomed!!
