Hi guys! I wanted to start this forum for people who have been accepted into the Duke ED new grad nurse residency starting February 2018. Any advice on places to live, any updates about starting, etc. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hey! I was also accepted into the Duke ED new grad residency program! Which hospital are you going to be working at?
Hey ck641! I'm going to be working at Duke University Hospital, how about you?

Hello! I just applied for the ED for a July start date. How did the application process go for you guys?
Hello! For me, the application process went like this:
Applied online August 2017 for ED
Recieved phone call from recruiter two days later asking for interview
Preliminary phone interview two days later (for med-surg)
Actual phone interview one week later (told recruiter I still wanted ED, not med-surg)
September 2017 online interview (8questions, answered via "Green Interview")
September 2017 asked for in-person interview
October 2017 in person interview (shadow nurse for 2 hours and 30 minute interview with 4 members of the ED)
October 2017 offered the job the next day via phone!
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions
Thank you for your response! I will definitely reach out if I have any more questions. I haven't heard anything yet, but I suspect it has to do with the holidays. Crossing my fingers to hear something next week.
Best of luck to you!
Thank you!
I received the email today for an 8 question online interview. It is through a different platform than "Green Interview," but I assume it is similar. I have to record myself and answer a few written questions. I am nervous! I've never had to do an online interview? How did yours go/compare? Any tips?

I also did that digital interview! It took me a while. Haven't heard anything yet though, hoping once the deadline for that interview comes and goes, we will begin knowing something! @EMTRN14
That interview was odd. I definitely didn't like being able to see myself! I feel much more confident about in person interviews! I'm glad there's someone else going through it though! The gears at Duke seem to move pretty slowly, but I'll let you know when I hear something :)

Hey! I'm just seeing this thread, but I am starting the 19th as well! :) Excited to get to meet everyone! I just moved to Durham this weekend.
Yay! I'm so excited to meet you. I just moved out here yesterday myself, so we'll both be new to the area
