I have never started a thread before so here it goes!!! I have just applied to Duke CRNA program for Fall 2018 I would love to hear from others who are going through the same process.
That is great hear. I didn't think of the whole day interview as being a way to relax and calm your fears. But it makes sense. Everyone that I have talked to that went to Duke loved it.
I'm in the same boat this is the year for me to make the leap and take it to the next level where else are you applying?? I wish you the very best of luck!! Please keep me posted on your process.
And good luck to you too! I'm applying to Case Western Reserve, Gonzaga, Westminster, Kaiser Fullerton, Duke, and OHSU. I shadowed twice last week and am absolutely hooked. One was an ambulatory surgery center and one was large university hospital. Both were awesome in their own ways. I was 95% sure I wanted to pursue anesthesia before shadowing and had ACNP as an alternative plan but am now obsessed and laser focused on CRNA.
Well, just got back from Duke. I was very impressed with the resource available to students. I was also impressed with the openness of the students that talked with us and provided amazing real life expectations. The faculty seemed very nice and approachable. I can only hope that I am a strong candidate for an interview. I do have to say the cost scares me a little but hopefully a way will be provided

Hi rn1021. I used to work with some people who are now students at Duke. They have all raved about it. They talk about the top notch clinical rotations and professors and sim lab. I don't have much contact with them now, but they all think Duke is worth the money. They all mentioned how great the interview day was (yes it was a whole day). They talk about how the interview being a whole day really lets you relax a little bit more and allow yourself to truly interview them as well to see if it's going to be a good fit.
And yeah I'm applying to several programs. My wife and I decided that this is the year if it's going to happen.
