Drug withdrawl...

hi, i wondered if any1 had any advice on the sorts of thing i can expect from some1 coming off a month on tramadol?

the reason is, my husband had knee surgery 5weeks ago & was ut on tramadol & co-dydramol for the pain.

all was going well 4 the 1st week then he got an infection above the knee & was admitted 4 a week. during this time he was still being given both painkillers.

the pain was still really bad when he came hime, & he had 14 days worth of each sent home with him.

last friday, he decided 2 stop taking them to see if his knee was actually better without, he'd only been taking them am & pm by this time.

ever since, he's been suffering with withdrawl.

i wanted 2 know if any1 could advise me on withdrawl from these, as i'm not sure.

he's getting headaches, joint ache, hot flushes followed by feeling cold, he's been having some loose bowel motions, like his body's not properly digesting his food, and he's not sleeping.

he went 2 the doctor 2day, who said 4 him 2 take paracetamol 4 the pain, & basically that there's nothing he can do!

is that right?

You and your husband need to contact his PCP once again. We at allnurses.com cannot give medical advice regarding his treatment plan. If he continues to have problems, please seek a second opinion and/or go to the ED.
