Drug shortages and rationing

Hi everyone!

I hope I'm posting this in the right place, if not, I do apologize - I'm a pre-nursing student, so I generally post in the student forum.

I just read this article in the NY Times about drug shortages and rationing, and I wanted to see what your take on it was. Have any of you observed this trend yourselves in your workplace? I found the article to be very concerning, as I was not aware of this issue.
