Hi everyone, 

please help, I need advice. I was caught taking oxycodone from patient’s PRN order and pocketing it for myself over the last month. I never withheld medication from patients that actually needed the pain relief. I am so scared as to what is going to happen. I was terminated from my job and I submitted a clean drug screen. My mind can’t stop running and I’ve been feeling sick to my stomach. I’m so ashamed of myself. I haven’t been charged with anything yet but I did already hire a lawyer. Did this ever happen to anyone else? If so, what happened.

I'd be interested to know the progress on this situation. I'm in a similar one and need advice to know if anyone else has experienced this as well and would appreciate any good advice.  I have that sick doomed feeling as well.  My situation was I was very sick at work and took a zofran and OTC prilosec that was in our med destruction pile. We were severely understaffed at work and I was feeling miserable, but felt I couldn't leave the residents (assisted living) not being taken care of. This happened at the end of December 2021 and I just got a letter I'm under investigation for drug diversion! So...my heart goes out to this person.  Advice please.
